Tickets $18.49-$23.49 Connor Sablan is a Guam born pianist who moved to the Bay Area 10 years ago and brings a tropical island sound to his jazz piano playing. Connor attended the College Of San Mateo jazz program and fell in love with the music. He has frequented jam sessions around the bay and collaborated with a number of great musicians. His influences include John Coltrane, Weather Report, Bud-Powell and Sergio Mendez to name a few. Connor has also played reggae keys with some notable artists such as Fiji, Anuhea, Eli-Mac, Josh Heinrich’s and others. He has just released his first jazz album entitled “Hot Pot”, which blends jazz with samba and modern jazz-fusion. His recently formed band, Power Baby, fuses traditional jazz elements with bossa nova, samba, fusion and hip hop.
